Yesterday was the annual sky ride in London. Each year throughout Britain streets are given over to cyclists. The aim is to get more people on bikes, one million more by 2013 is the current ambition. Hardy cyclists braved heavy rain determined to enjoy themselves despite the weather. Makes me think that extra million is rather conservative.

Just One of Those Days
Pouring with rain, the tubes are on strike, the Boris bike stand near me is locked and I can't get a bike out and the taxi got a flat!Actually I made that up. Well not really. You see they all did happen. Just not today. Well actually not all exactly on the same day. They did all happen. I just rearranged the order. Well you do don't you when it's one of those days. Hope I haven't jinxed my train today.
I'm buzzing off for a few days. Not cold enough here thought I'd head north just to feel some real cold. Goodness this doesn't sound very jolly does it. I am jolly though in case you're wondering. Thanks for asking.
I will leave you with a few glimpses of London while I'm gone.

Naked Bike Ride
The unsuspecting bike rider on the right was rather stunned to suddenly find himself surrounded by naked riders.Cars were stopped as hundreds of riders taking part in the world naked bike ride cycled over Westminster Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Vintage Bikes
An incredible collection of more than 100 vintage bikes, gathered over several years by it's Pamplona owner were auctioned yesterday. Some looked as though they had just been rescued from a war site, others were sparkling and shiny and looked ready to race.
Not that I know a lot about bikes but still I was impressed.
Take a look at the auctioneers site if you want to know all those detailed things I can't answer.
