Huggers set new world record

Another reason London is the best city in the world. Hugging couples have set a new world record at St Pancras Station. I popped along last night to see how the hugging couples were faring. With a little over 8 hours under their belts at that stage and still full of enthusiasm that they would go the marathon distance and pass the 24 hrs 34 minutes of the previous record. I've just checked their progress all those taking place at the time I photographed them were all still there a few minutes ago. Yahoo!

The Captain and The Marathon Runner

Vaisakhi, the Sikh New Year or harvest festival was celebrated in Trafalgar Square yesterday. Food, singing and dancing all part of the fun.

I met these two gentlemen, the captain and the marathon runner. The captain told me 92 year old Fauja Singh has run over 20 marathons.

Having searched on google I find he is actually 99 and began running at age 89! He has become the new face of Adidas.

Whatever his age, he is certainly an inspiration.

London Marathon 2010

This years London Marathon began more than a week ago with marathon efforts to get all the elite runners into London due to the no fly zone in the UK as a result of the volcano. The organisers chartered a plane to get those stranded in East Africa to London.

The elite women was won by Liliya Shobukhava in 2hrs 22 mins.

London Marathon 2009

More than 35,000 finished this gruelling race yesterday. Everyone, runners, supporters and contributors were simply amazing raising £450 million for charity.
The elite athletes made record breaking times. 2hrs 5 mins for the men and 2hrs 22 mins for the women.
Everyone who ran give yourself a pat on the back and a big congratulations to Stephan.
