Granary Square is part of the Kings Cross redevelopment. It is an area the size of Trafalgar Square that runs between Regents Canal and Central St Martin's College of Art and Design. 1080 dancing jets of water make up the new fountain in its centre. The spouts of water leap and dance and they make sounds as if singing.

Interactive Art
Each summer the water installation 'appearing rooms' by Danish artist Jeppe Hein is part of the summer fun on Southbank. You can leap from "room" to "room" as they appear and disappear and stay dry (if you are lucky). If you are a kid getting wet is what it's all about. That goes for the big kids as well.Thursday, August 27, 2009

I'm taller than you
Fun at Somerset House. 55 of these fountains dance and tease in the courtyard. The building itself is huge. The palace of the Duke of Somerset built in the 1500's. Since the 1800's, thanks to King Georg III the home of the Royal academy of arts.It was also from around this time the place the general register office. A place where certificates of births, deaths and marriages could be found. Until they moved out in 1970.Brief posts will appear over Easter while I am away exploring other parts of the UK.
